Welcome to Fairborn City Schools!

This is truly an exciting time in the Fairborn City School District. Two years ago, the residents of Fairborn passed a 2.9 mill Bond issue to build two new elementary school buildings. Construction is well underway with the new Fairborn Primary building, with a completion date set for August of 2020. Schematic design of the new Fairborn Intermediate building are currently under review. Groundbreaking for the Intermediate school is set for August of 2020 and completion in August of 2022.

Additionally, many Permanent Improvement projects have been completed and will continue to be addressed. To date some of the projects include: increased security at all building locations with new cameras and lighting improvements. At the Transportation Department, new asphalt and lighting upgrades help to improve conditions and keep our staff safe. At Fairborn High School, new stage lighting, and HVAC upgrades have improved the building for both students and staff. The district continues to work to improve technology access at the primary and secondary levels.

Instructionally, our staff continues to work very hard by attending professional development activities to meet the demands set forth by the State Legislature and the Ohio Department of Education. In the 2017-18 school year, student test scores increased in 18 of 21 categories. Fairborn teachers will continue to work hard to align curriculum to academic content standards while also implementing research-based best teaching practices in their classrooms that demonstrate student achievement results. The staff and administration are committed to providing all students with a quality education that prepares them for college, specific career paths and most importantly, life after high school.

I am very proud to be a part of the Skyhawk community and wish our staff, students and parents’ success throughout the school year.
