Dear Fairborn Families,

It is my honor to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year.  It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction as the new principal of Fairborn High School. My name is Karen Spaulding-Chicketti and I am truly excited to become part of the Fairborn Community and to be a Fairborn Skyhawk.  

I bring to Fairborn High School over 20 years of experience in education.  I am coming from Dayton Public where I served as the Principal of the largest high school in the district for the last four years.  I am the mother of three children, five g-babies who have me wrapped around their little fingers (and they know it) and have been married 37 years to my husband.

Attending the ribbon cutting on July 17th, 2024 I could feel and see how much this community loves the students of Fairborn. I believe the success of Fairborn students relies on a strong partnership between parents, school, and community.  Parents are always welcomed at FHS and are encouraged to be a part of their student’s education.  Together we can help our FHS students to be successful academically and “Soar to new Heights!

My focus for the 2024-2025 school year will be guiding staff and students through the transitioning of a new building with unlimited educational opportunities.  From the new biomed lab, robotics classroom, interactive classrooms, to the new career technology classes. These educational opportunities will challenge our students to a new level of academic learning and success.

Please mark your calendars for the Fairborn High School Open House which will be held on Monday August 26th, 2024 from 5:30-7:00 pm.
