Welcome to Fairborn City Schools!
I am honored to serve as the Superintendent of the Fairborn City School District. The community and families make this an incredible place to call home. Fairborn is an innovative, diverse, and close-knit community that offer hometown values with big-city opportunities, and I am proud to serve as one of its leaders.
You might often here us say, "Welcome to the Fairborn Family." This phrase is not just masterful wordplay, it is a mindset of our faculty, staff, and students. From our interactions with families, to our connections at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Wright State University, all the way down to our pre-school program, we place value and emphasis on knowing the whole child and encouraging their leadership in our community.
Our community supports its schools consistently, most recently passing two bond issues to make the dream of new learning facilities a reality. The newly-constructed Fairborn Primary School opened in August of 2020. Fairborn Intermediate School construction is underway and will open in August of 2022. Fairborn High School, and its adjoining athletics complex and Performing Arts Center, are currently under construction and scheduled to finish in 2023. After the new high school is completed, students at Baker Middle School will be moving into the former Fairborn High School with some upgrades made. As part of the State of Ohio's ELLP program, FCS will receive funding within the next five-ten years to build a new middle school on the same property as the high school. Again, I want to thank our community for the commitment to the children and schools with this enormous investment.
The positive changes and momentum in the Fairborn City School District will not only provide new and improved opportunities for our students, but our school district will be a destination school district in the Miami Valley. In partnership with the City of Fairborn, there are many projects and plans to move our community forward! We are proud to partner with the City as we plan for the future of the Fairborn community, and are grateful for the hard work many volunteers, staff, and officials have provided.
Instructionally, our staff continues to work very hard and continues to innovate. The past two years have presented numerous challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, yet our faculty and staff continue to rise to new heights and focus on providing the high quality education that our students deserve and that our community expects.
Our faculty, staff, and administration are committed to providing all students with a high quality education that will prepare them for life after high school. As our Mission reads, we are relentless in the pursuit of personal and academic excellence. We will not rest until every student in Fairborn is prepared for graduation, graduates, and has a plan to change and serve our community for the better.
These are truly exciting times in the Fairborn City School District. I am thankful for a supportive and growing community, and I look forward to an incredibly bright future.
