Military Families

Welcome to the Fairborn Family!

Welcome to the Fairborn City Schools community! We are proud to be home of the Skyhawks and proud to be the home of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Wright State University!

Fairborn is dedicated to an inclusive and welcoming transition for our military and civilian connected families and students. As home to WPAFB, we are grateful to serve and work with all families as we welcome them to our school district. Your service to our nation is honored with gratitude and respect by our entire community.

Our community recently passed two bond issues, which in partnership with the state of Ohio, are funding the construction of new learning facilities including innovative spaces for academics, athletics, and the arts. This multi-million dollar investment shows the value that Fairborn places in our students and their future. Fairborn Primary School (grades pre-K-2) opened in the fall of 2020. Fairborn Intermediate School (grades 3-5) opened in 2022. Further, we are currently in the design phase for a new high school, athletics complex, and performing arts center which will open in August of 2024.  The design process for a new middle school begins this year.

The Fairborn Family stands ready for a bright and innovative future, and we look forward to welcoming you as an integral part of our community. As you start to navigate this new journey, we invite you to use the Military Family Transition checklist prior to your arrival (Click HERE for the checklist).

Fairborn High School, Baker Middle School, Fairborn Intermediate School, and Fairborn Primary School are all Purple Star Schools as designated by the Ohio Department of Education. Schools that achieve Purple Star status are recognized for their continued commitment to military and civilian families in our community, including counseling services, communications, military family engagement, and events.
