Hall of Honor Inductees

The Fairborn City School District annual Hall of Honor Induction will be Friday, April 26, 2024 at 7:00
p.m. in the Fairborn High School auditorium. The following will be inducted as the Class of 2024.
 
Catherine Frank, (Deceased) Teacher and Gifted Supervisor, Founder of the Gifted Program in the
Fairborn City School District. Frank created the program to add to the learning experiences of students by challenging students to excel, think critically and to use all of their senses and skills. This program is still in place in the Fairborn City School District and serves hundreds of students each year.
 
Marge Gehring, (Deceased) Teacher and Special Education Supervisor, 30 years of service to Fairborn City Schools. Gehring was the first supervisor in the school district to serve special education
programs. Gehring was involved with parents, professional groups and staff to provide for students and the programs they needed. Her endeavors provided strong educational and vocational programs for students with special needs.
 
Barry Gluck, Fairborn High School Class of 1969, Vice-President for Divisional Merchandise
Management at Macy’s Department Store, Atlanta, Ga.; Executive Vice-President Ross Stores,
Merchandising, Marketing, Store Planning and Allocations; Founder of Gluck Consulting, LLC.; lifetime endowment for political science internships at The Ohio State University; consulting at The University of Notre Dame; credits his success to strong academics at Fairborn.
 
Jason Lyons, Fairborn High School Class of 1994, police officer, served in the US Army; highly
decorated for life-saving efforts and heroic and meritorious accomplishments in his career. College
professor who teaches leadership nationally to make the profession better. Proud graduate who
credits his education for giving him the foundation and drive to succeed.
 
Craig Moore, Fairborn High School Class of 1968, 32 years of service to Fairborn City Schools, taught
history and coached wrestling and football. Expert on Osborne and Fairfield history and partner in
assisting with $3.5 million donation to purchase land for the new high school, provide one-to-one
technology for students and volunteered on the turf fund committee.
 
Arundhati Venkayya, Fairborn High School Class of 1991, Vice-President for Public Affairs and Media
Relations, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Venkayya served as the Deputy Director
and Chief Communications officer for the Ohio Department of Health and led communications efforts
during the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Michael Yeary, Fairborn High School Class of 1969, Leader in community youth sports programs
including Little League and basketball; inducted into the Fairborn Athletic Hall of Fame; retired after
30 year career at Flowserve. Yeary is a strong supporter of Fairborn City Schools’ serving on multiple
committees for the betterment of the school system.
