FCS Hall of Honor Induction 2025

The Fairborn City School District annual Hall of Honor will be held in the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Fairborn High School, 1523 Commerce Center Blvd. on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. A reception will follow the Induction in the Great Hall. The Fairborn community is invited and welcome to attend! 


The Hall of Honor awards individuals who bring great pride to our community through their significant contributions to their field, alma mater and society. Alumni and friends of Fairborn City Schools;’ are nominated based on their leadership, philanthropy, professional success and community service. 


This year, Fairborn will honor the following outstanding graduates:


Mr.Matt Cline Class of 2013

Mrs. Teresa Fannin Little-Class of 1969

Mr. Charles Henry Mayenschein-Class of 1939 (Deceased) 

Mrs. Kelly Mercer-Class of 2000

Mr. Josh Smith-Class of 2008

Mr. Ryan Williams-Class of 1998


Mr. Matt Cline, Fairborn High School Class of 2013 is the Founder of “Just a Pair of Shoes.”  The nonprofit organization focuses on providing shoes to underprivileged children. He also works in the online retail sector with “Success Incline S-corp” with a cumulative sale of over 60,000 pairs of shoes.  He is a Fairborn Football Foundation member, Family Promise of Greene County Board Member, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and is a Distinguished Leader, Emerging Marketing Leaders Group, Raj Soin College of Business. 


Mrs. Teresa Fannin Little, Fairborn High School Class of 1969, served as a Professor of Art at Sinclair Community College and was the Program Coordinator for “Reach Across America.” She has won numerous awards for her artwork and contributions to the community including the YWCA Dayton Women of Influence Award, the 2007 National Conference for Community and Justice Humanitarian Award and the Wright State University Outstanding Alumni Award in Liberal Arts. She served on the Fairborn Board of Education for five years.


Mr. Charles Mayenschein, Fairborn High School Class of 1939, was an airplane mechanic and custom auto builder. Mayenschein built his first car while still in high school and served as an airplane mechanic at Wright Field. He designed and helped to build the “Green Monster” for the world land speed record. His motto was “You can do anything you want if you set your mind to it.” He was featured in two movies including “The Challenge” by Firestone (1964) and "The Long Black Line” narrated by Stu Sanders (Firestone). He was a member of the 400 MPH Club. 


Mrs. Kelly Mercer, Fairborn High School Class of 2000, is Co-Founder of her own marketing and advertising studio, Boom Crate Studios. Boom Crate has grown into one of the top 10 advertising agencies in the region and has a client base that includes American Airlines, Dayton Children’s and the Cincinnati Bengals. Kelly is a University of Dayton graduate and is active in the community volunteering with the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton, Dayton Children’s, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and others. She does public speaking at local organizations and educational facilities to help educate the next generation of creative professionals. Kelly graduated from the University of Dayton in 2004 with a BA in Communications/Electronic Media/Marketing and Visual Communications. 


Mr. Josh Smith, Fairborn High School Class of 2008, is a Senior Video Project Manager and Emmy Winning Producer. His portfolio encompasses a range of commercial, corporate, event and promotional videos. Notable clients include: Papa Johns, Airheads, Mentos, The BBC, and Procter and Gamble. He is a board member of the Academy of Cinematic Arts. He currently serves as the Senior Video Project Manager for Prestige AV and Creative Services. Josh received his Associates degree and his BFA in Digital Film Making from The Art Institute of Ohio. 


Mr. Ryan Williams, Fairborn High School Class of 1998, serves as the City of Fairborn Fire Chief. He has served 25 years as a paramedic, firefighter, inspector, instructor, Lieutenant, Captain, Asst. Chief and Chief. He was a member of FEMA’s Ohio Task Force 1 and Operations Chief of Ohio Region 3 Rescue Strike Team.  Ryan is active in the Fairborn community and is a member of the Fairborn Rotary Club. He holds degrees in fire science and fire administration and is a graduate of the Ohio Fire Chiefs Fire Executive Course.
