The Office of Safety and Security is responsible for:

  • Work closely with building Principals in coordination of security programs
  • Coordinate schedules for SRO's to arrange coverage for events and day to day operations
  • Patrol and monitor the campus and surrounding areas to ensure safety of students and staff and security of facilities
  • Inspect and monitor security of doors, windows, gates and test for proper operation and detect/report fire/safety hazards and communicate to the Fairborn Police Department
  • Conduct investigations for school related incidents as needed
  • Develop, implement, update and train all staff re: District Emergency Operations Plan (EOP
  • Conduct annual safety audit/assessment of school facilities and grounds to determine safety and security issues
  • Assist with training and implementation of building level Threat Assessment teams
  • Perform new hire training on all matters of safety and security

School Safety Resources:

Mr. Bill Titley, School Safety Supervisor, coordinates all safety plans and coordinates professional development for the school district. The district has coordinated safety plans which are reviewed yearly. Please refer to the Safety Brochure in the event of an emergency for communication and reunification information. 

 

Director Titley's Background:

Bill Titley has 25-years in law enforcement and has served with the Fairborn Police Department for over 23 years and holds an MS in Education from the University of Akron. He is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Findlay. Mr. Titley is an OPOTA certified police instructor, including firearms and special tactics. Additionally, he is a co-author of the State of Ohio’s Solo Officer Response to Active Threat program. (SORAT). He has served as a member of the Fairborn Police Department’s regional SWAT team for the last 17 years and has served in a variety of roles including sniper and team leader. Sgt. Titley also owns a private company which conducts threat assessments and active aggressor training for school and church administrators.
