Women’s History Month Person of the Day!

Patricia Bath was born in 1942 in a poor neighborhood in NYC.  Bath was the first woman to lead a post-graduate program in ophthalmology, the first black woman to serve as a surgeon at UCLA Medical Center, and the first woman to be elected to the honorary staff of the UCLA Medical Center.  In 1988, she became the first black, female doctor to make a medical invention.  Bath’s Laserphaco Probe is used around the world to dissolve cataracts and fix people’s vision. 

Students should have received an email about Top Scholar. Any students taking CCP must submit their grades via the linked form by Friday to be considered for Top Scholar Awards.
