FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Fairborn City School District has received a 4-star rating on the Ohio Department of
Education report card. The district has met the state standard in academic achievement and has
exceeded student growth expectations. The district has also exceeded the state standards in
closing educational gaps and graduation rate. The district received two starts in Early Literacy and
is working to identify and address this area. Additionally, FCS received four stars in the “College,
Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness” component.
With the implementation of the district Strategic Plan and Portrait of a Skyhawk, FCS is poised to
equip our students with future-ready skills that empower them to achieve personal and academic
excellence. The Strategic Plan prioritizes four areas which will enhance the academic experience
for our students with priorities in: Teaching and Learning, Future-Ready Skills, Student
Life/Experience, and Operational Efficiency. We know that each day presents an opportunity that
ensures that every student has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
Superintendent, Amy Gayheart, states “We are proud of our accomplishments on the state report
card and will continue to focus on the district strategic plan which supports the whole student and
provides a “north star” for every area of district operations. Our goal is to provide the best
roadmap for this ever-changing world so that our students will find success in their chosen
endeavors.”
Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Chad Lensman, states “Our state report card results reflect
the incredible dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families. These results demonstrate
the impact of high-quality instruction, strong collaboration, and a shared commitment to ensuring
that every student succeeds.”
Fairborn is proud of this progress and will continue to use these results to celebrate our strengths,
identify opportunities for growth, and keep student achievement at the heart of what we do each
day!
