Fairborn City Schools Names Aaron Drakeford as New Athletic Director
FAIRBORN, Ohio — Fairborn City Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Aaron Drakeford as the district's new Athletic Director. An experienced educational leader with a passion for student success, Drakeford brings a strong background in school administration, athletic leadership, and team development to the Fairborn community.
Drakeford most recently served as a Building Administrator at Northridge High School in Dayton, where he managed daily school operations, supervised staff, analyzed student achievement data, and worked closely with teachers, families, and community members to support student success. Prior to that role, he served as Northridge High School's Dean of Students and Athletic Director, overseeing all aspects of the school's athletic programs while promoting sportsmanship, accountability, and excellence.
Throughout his career, Drakeford has earned a reputation as a dedicated, energetic leader who builds strong relationships and inspires collaboration. He is committed to creating positive experiences for student-athletes while fostering a culture centered on integrity, teamwork, academic achievement, and personal growth.

As Athletic Director, Drakeford will oversee all high school athletic programs, providing leadership and support to coaches, student-athletes, and families. His responsibilities will include scheduling athletic events, supervising coaches, managing athletic operations, promoting compliance with state and league regulations, and ensuring student-athletes have the resources and support they need to succeed both on the field and in the classroom.
Drakeford's leadership philosophy is rooted in collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed athletic operations, coordinated game scheduling and transportation, supervised coaching staffs, strengthened relationships with booster organizations and community partners, and supported initiatives that promote student engagement and achievement.
