P-EBT Information for families

FCS Families (Students in grades K-8 do not need to complete meal application/only high school students)

PLEASE NOTE:  The P-EBT (Pandemic Electronic Benefits transfer) benefits issued that began in 2019 do not automatically continue from last school year/summer.  It is a new school year, with specific USDA guidance for all schools.  Please keep your student’s card(s) for possible upcoming benefits.

USDA has again approved the P-EBT benefits for School Year 2021-2022.  There are stipulations (as in the past) as to which students are eligible for benefits.

  1. If the school provides fully in-person instruction between Aug. 1, 2021-June 30, 2022, but has students who have stayed home at least five consecutive days due to COVID-19 or COVID-19 quarantine, benefits will be issued to those students, after the five consecutive days.

  2. FCS is participating in a different USDA program (per federal waiver) again this school year (Seamless Summer Option), allowing our high school students to receive FREE breakfast and lunch meals for 2021-2022.

Our K-8 students qualify under another USDA program (Community Eligibility Provision-CEP), allowing all students a free breakfast and lunch; free and reduced meal applications are USUALLY required for our high school students.

  1. In order for a high school student to qualify for a P-EBT card for 2021-2022 (if a student is eligible from above criteria), a meal application must be on file for 2021-2022.  In addition, meal applications are required for any high school student that may request fees to be waived—(NOTE: only those students that qualify for FREE meals with a meal application are eligible for fee waivers).

Click here for the 2021-2022 meal application; it must be printed.    Applications may be submitted to the Board of Education (306 E. Whittier Ave.)  Or directly to our office, located in the Intermediate building (4 W. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd).  Having a student take to school may delay the processing.
