Jumpstart Summer Learning Recovery Camp 2021                                                        July 6-30, 2021 (morning only program)

This past year has been a difficult time for schools and families due to COVID.  We realize that many of our students missed learning opportunities and would like to provide some options during this summer for those that are interested. As with most things, there is no one option that will work for everyone.  We are planning for summer learning, additional learning supports & curriculum for next school year, and some after school learning options for next year.  Please consider the needs of your children and family as you decide whether summer learning is a good match for you.  We are offering both summer intervention and enrichment opportunities as described below.

Our summer intervention program is geared towards helping students review skills and prepare for the next school year.  This year we are planning for both traditional in person and remote summer academic support/enrichment.

The  Jumpstart Summer Learning Recovery Camp is a FOUR-week program for Fairborn Primary, Fairborn Intermediate and Baker Middle School students, starting on July 6, 2021 and ending on July 30, 2021.  The plan is for a half day program sometime between 8:00 a.m. and noon.  The exact times will be determined as we see enrollment numbers and work with bussing time.  If you are interested in having your child participate in this summer learning opportunity please register your child by May 21, 2021 by completing this form.  Confirmation will be sent out the week of June 14th with additional details on times and planned activities.

The summer JUMPSTART learning Recovery Camp is a three part program.  First, it will include opportunities for students to re-engage with grade level peers for community circle and support their well being as we transition through the summer to return in the fall.  This opening activity is geared at helping students recognize and learn to handle their own social emotional needs and communicate with peers.  The opening activity will be followed by skill lessons in reading and math.  Following this students will have opportunities for some themed based activities.  Currently themed project based activities are being planned for the summer camps.

For students who are unable to attend in person we will offer similar virtual camps to help fill in gaps in learning, reinforce important skills and better prepare students for the next school year.

The availability of the summer options will depend on student enrollment. We highly encourage everyone that is interest to enroll immediately or before the closing day of May 21.

You will need to register each student separately for summer camps.  FHS has it's own Summer School - 5th Quarter Registration form.
