Superintendent Lolli’s Friday Update April 10, 2020

Good morning Fairborn families-

I hope this message finds each of you safe and healthy.  With Spring Break upon us, I want each of you to take some time to rest and relax.  We are all adjusting to this new “normal” and it is challenging for each of us. I want to thank parents, grandparents and all caregivers who are adjusting their lives and schedules to support education at home.

I also want to thank our incredible staff members. I am inspired by their hard work and commitment to our children. The lesson planning and communication continues and the district is working hard to provide everything our students need to be successful. I want to encourage all of our families (if you haven’t yet) to complete the technology survey sent to each home and return to the district. This information is extremely important moving forward.  FCS needs to know how many of our families have technology and WiFi access in their homes. As the district moves forward, this critical information is very important as we continue to plan for the educational process.

I have received many questions about the future (graduation, end of year events) and at this time I cannot provide information. FCS will continue to follow the Governor’s directives. The district leadership team is meeting and planning for the coming weeks.  I know that the uncertainty can cause stress for families and I understand.  Again, as decisions are made at the state level, the district will continue to plan based on the information we receive. It is very important for all of us to stay safe and continue to try our best during this time.

I hope that each of you takes time this week to rest and spend time with family.  I have found that in the most challenging times, I see the very best in our people. Fairborn is an incredible community. The community outreach and support these past few weeks is inspiring. Let’s continue to work together to get through this together.  I believe in each of you. I believe that a better day is ahead.

Take care-

Gene Lolli

Superintendent
