Fairborn Sustainability Committee and FCS Earth Day actvities

Fairborn Sustainability Committee and Earth Day subcommittee plan “Earth Day 2021” activities

The theme for Earth Day 2021 is “Restore Our Earth-Promoting Environmental Awareness and Protection of our Planet”
The Fairborn Sustainability Committee and Earth Day subcommittee have scheduled events for all ages, to promote environmental awareness and the importance of Earth Day. 

Student Contests and Art Display: The City of Fairborn and the Fairborn City School District have partnered to sponsor an Earth Day Art/Video/Essay contest for all children in Fairborn. There are two Google Classrooms available (one for students who attend Fairborn City Schools and one for children in Fairborn who do not attend Fairborn City Schools). Information is posted on the FCS website at: www.fairborn.k12.oh.us or on the district social media @Fairborn City Schools.  All Art/Video/Essays should focus on the Earth Day theme. The deadline for submission is April 1, 2021. Elementary students have the option to create artwork and submit to the Fairborn Board of Education, 306 E. Whittier Avenue, Fairborn.  The elementary art contest is available for children in grades PreK-2 and their artwork will be displayed in downtown Fairborn business fronts from April 17th through May 1st.
Winners will be selected for cash prizes in each age group and category.  Winners will be announced during the Community Earth Day Celebration on Thursday April 22nd at 7:00 p.m. which will livestream on the City of Fairborn Facebook page and on city cable channel 5
