Ohio Department of Education releases District Report Card
The Fairborn City School District, under the leadership of Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Sue Brackenhoff has made incredible progress on the report card for the 2023-2024 school year. The district has exceeded the state standards in 4 of 5 areas and met the state standard in one area. Districts and schools receive an overall rating of 1 to 5 stars in half star increments. The overall rating is comprised of five rated components.
For FCS, the district increased in:
Overall Rating, Graduation Rating, Early Literacy and Gap Closing
Overall Rating: 4 Stars (up from 3.5 Stars from the previous year)
Achievement Component Rating: 3 Stars (3 Stars from previous year)
*Achievement component represents whether a student's performance on state tests met established thresholds and how well students performed on tests overall.
Graduation Rate Component Rating: 3 Stars (2 Stars from previous year)
*The Graduation component is a measure of the four-year adjusted graduation rate and the five year graduation rate.
Progress Component Rating: 4 Stars (4 Stars from previous year)
*The Progress component looks closely at the growth all students are making based on their past performances.
Early Literacy Component Rating: 3 Stars (2 stars from previous year)
*The Early Literacy component is a measure of reading improvement and proficiency for students in Kindergarten through third grade.
Gap Closing Component Rating: 5 Stars (4 stars from previous year)
*The Gap Closing component is a measure of the reduction in educational gaps for student subgroups.
The Fairborn City School District has made incredible gains this past school year due to the hard work and dedication of our administrative leadership and teachers. All staff members contribute to this success! We are very proud of the focus on academics and the supports we are providing to our students to help them achieve at all levels. FCS will continue to analyze data to drive instructional practices for our district. Congratulations to Dr. Brackenhoff and all of our staff on this amazing achievement.
