UPDATED Wednesday, December 2, 2020:
November 17, 2020-Fairborn City School District moving to remote learning:
Good afternoon Skyhawk families!
The Fairborn City School District has made the decision to go to Remote Learning starting Monday, November 23, 2020 through January 1, 2021. Prior to returning on January 4, 2021, after Winter Break, we will re-evaluate the situation to determine if we continue with Remote Learning or if we have students return to school. The decision was made due to a rise in the number of COVID-19 related cases and individuals in quarantine in the district and due to community spread. We realize that this is a very hard time for our staff and families and we will continue to update information as needed.
Please be sure to stay safe over the holiday season. Again, what we do in our personal time can and will impact our ability moving forward to stay open as a school district. We will be sharing more details this week and will post on the FCS website and share the link via OneView email as well as a TEC call to all families.

Transportation Update Tuesday, November 10, 2020:
The Fairborn City School District will not be transporting any students through Friday, November 13, 2020 due to COVID-19/quarantine. We appreciate your patience and understanding. This communication was also provided via phone message to all parents and via email through OneView.
The Fairborn City School District will not be transporting any students on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 (no career center, MH, private schools) due to COVID-19. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work on a solution to this issue impacting transportation.
The Fairborn City School District is committed to the safety of students and staff. The protocols for FCS are followed in conjunction with Greene County Public Health. The information posted is the established protocol when someone tests positive in the district. The letters for each building are attached in order.
*The building administrator makes contact with the family that child was exposed to COVID-19.
*If you were not directly affected, you will receive a message that someone in the building tested positive and if you do not hear from the building administrator or Greene County Public Health, you were not in direct contact with the individual.
*If you do receive the call because you were in direct contact, you will be quarantined for 14 days since you were in direct contact with an individual who tested positive. The Greene County Health Department will let you know when you can return to school.
*The Greene County Public Health Department takes a look at people who have had direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and they make the recommendation to the school district to close a classroom or to have a building go remote.
*As a school district, FCS follows the recommendations of Greene County Public Health.
