Preschool Services

We provide a variety of high quality preschool experiences for children ages 3-5. Enrollment is open to children from the community, including children with disabilities. All programs are licensed through the Ohio Department of Education.  All certified staff have bachelor’s or master’s degrees Early Childhood Special Education or Early Childhood Education.

The programs adhere to a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is research based and aligned to Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards.  Instructional strategies are individualized in accordance with the diverse needs, abilities, interests and backgrounds of the children.  Encouraging each child’s self worth is an important part of the learning process. Parent involvement is a strong focus of our program.

Early Childhood Special Education Program: This program enrolls children with special needs, as well as children who are typically developing. There is a nominal monthly tuition charge for children who are typically developing.  Children who are typically developing must be potty trained. Children with special needs must be evaluated and placed by the Special Education Department.   Children with special needs may receive the following related services based upon their identified needs: speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, adapted physical education and transportation. Services are free for children with identified disabilities.

Early Childhood Education Program:  This is a free program for children who meet income eligibility for services.  The program is primarily for children who are typically developing, although approximately 15-25% of enrollees may receive special education itinerant services. Children must be potty trained.

Itinerant Services:   Itinerant special education services are available to identified children who are attending the Early Childhood Education Program, Head Start, Community Preschool Programs or who are home based.  These free services include, but are not limited to: direct service to the child; consultation and coaching to teachers, parents and support staff; technical assistance, and sharing of resources.

Class hours are from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and from 12:40 PM to 3:10 PM.  The classes meet Monday through Thursday plus two Friday’s a month.  The afternoon classes are primarily for children who will be entering kindergarten the following school year.
