PRINCIPAL MESSAGE

Fairborn Primary School Mission Statement

Fairborn Primary School, in partnership with parents and community, will provide a safe, accepting, and challenging environment helping all children to become lifelong, responsible citizens.

Principal, Ms. Jill Bennett

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Fairborn Primary School...Where Skyhawks Earn their Wings.

Building strong relationships with the staff, students, and families I serve is at the heart of my practice. I look forward to listening to your ideas and vision for our school and collaborating with each of you to support our sense of community here at Fairborn Primary. As your principal, I will strive to ensure that all families feel welcome and connected to our school family.

Our team will continue to embed critical thinking and collaboration across all content areas. We will also continue working diligently to meet the diverse needs of our students through small group instruction across all grade levels.  We have added additional instructional support for grades K-2 to help with any learning gaps that students may have.  Our school received Hall of Fame School recognition in the 2021-2022 school year by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators.

As our littlest Skyhawks earn their wings, we focus on instruction and the use of positive behavior supports (PBIS) that will allow our students to learn the skills they need to be respectful, responsible, and safe... because it is  “The Skyhawk Way!”

Our deliberate work in Social Emotional Learning is to instill tools for self-regulation and emotional wellness for our students.  This will carry on through lessons by our teachers, school counselors, Clinical Counselor, and School Social Worker. Practices such as naming emotions, communicating needs, self advocacy, and breathing exercises help our students have ownership over their responses to their emotions.  We use a team approach to learning the personal narratives of each student in our care while working in partnership with their respective families to determine how best to meet the needs of our students.

One of the greatest characteristics of the Fairborn Primary learning community is the genuine care and compassion shared between staff, students, and families. Fairborn Primary is a place where staff and families come together to ensure that the children entrusted into our care grow to be productive, confident, compassionate, members of a global society.

SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH Students may receive breakfast and lunch at school at no cost. If preferred, sack lunches may be brought to school, but not glass bottles or soda/pop.

VISITORS must show a photo ID to enter the school's office. All visitors to student activities must be listed on the student emergency card unless accompanied by an individual listed on the emergency card.

I am  so glad you are part of our school for the 2022-2023 school year! I encourage you to contact me at any time with questions, concerns, or just to say hello and introduce yourself.

There is plenty of uncertainty in today’s world, but one thing I know for sure is that Fairborn Primary Skyhawks are smart and strong! Together we can do anything-let’s make it happen!!!
